Vocal Pedagogy: An Evolving Tradition

Video Tutorial: How to Breathe Better for Singing

I just completed the first video tutorial in what will be an ongoing series of instructional segments on Carnegie Hall's Musical Exchange global interactive site. It's a 10-minute piece on the essential components of breathing for singing:

We'll be posting these segments monthly, covering a wide variety of topics related to vocal technique and repertoire. Let me know if there are any specific topics you'd like to see covered in the series.

Musical Exchange continues to grow. It's a valuable educational and networking resource for musicians of all kinds, so please visit and register for membership! Many thanks to Christopher Amos, Jonathon Hampton, Yasmin de Soiza, and the rest of the fabulous team at the Weill Music Institute who made this project possible!
